Info
The Turbine Shed is the largest and most visually dramatic interior space on the Cockatoo Island heritage precinct, Sydney. The site specific installation "Turbine Shed" lowers the 25m high roof structure down to a human-scale ceiling height of 3m.
The digital print 'sail' is suspended over a 17m long footprint of the hall and mirrors the obviously visual features of the space; the skylights and the heavy steel roof truss'. From the design vantage point the installation appears to be hanging vertically, reflecting the main structural feature of the space; the portal frame - two vertical members spanned with a shallow A-frame beam.
